The death of Andrew 'Andy' Love MacDonald, 96, author and humourist, husband of the late Rhoda (Goodwin) MacDonald occurred May 8, 2014 at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, N.B.
For many years, Andy was the "artist in residence" at Andy's Dummy Farm in Baie Verte, N.B., and was a well known Maritime author. His books included "Bread and Molasses", "Don't Slip On The Soap", "Tell Pa I'm Dead", "Tis Me Again Bye", and "Don't Be Funny Daddy".
Andy was born in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton on Nov. 6, 1917, one of 11 children.
He is survived by his daughter, Dianne (Frank) Copp; grandsons, David (Woojung) and Michael (Jennifer) and great-granddaughter, Mireille.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge St., Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. A memorial service for Andy will be held at a later date.
