Glen was born in Rimbey Alberta, July 2, 1940 to Russel and Alice (nee Meaver) Wagar. The second youngest of nine children. Glen was predeceased by infant son Joe, siblings Walter, Bernice, Gilbert, Leona, Doreen and
granddaughter LeaAnne. Glen is survived by his loving wife
Ruth Wagar; children Glenda Wagar (Pat Gerlinsky),and
Joanne Wagar; grandchildren Jennifer Gagnon (Jason Ernst), Travis Neighbour (Alisha Curtis), Alex Gagnon (Jody Ethier), Kalvin Neighbour, Samantha Gagnon (Tommy Nichols), and Brandy Neighbour (Josh Greene); great grandchildren Destiny and Patience Maurer; brother’s Charlie, Frank, and John; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glen enjoyed teasing his 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman, freshwater and ocean, loved to hunt and provide for family and friends. Glen had many jobs including heavy equipment operator, logger, oilfield worker, rancher, farmer, trucker, including just as many hobbies, as in boating, horses, pilot, founding member of Oilmen’s Assoc., donating time and equipment to Rotary Club, Ski hill and Cutbank hall. A good game of cards, dancing, hosting a BBQ (special recipes) and a homemade glass of wine.
Glen helped many people on their personal journeys, and strongly encouraged entrepreneurship with the young and old. In 2005 Glen accomplished his dream of building a home out of logs.
Glen passed suddenly of a coronary at home while working at taking trees off his fence line, on April 20, 2014. A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Cutbank Hall, Fellers Heights, British Columbia.
