At the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital, O’Leary, on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, of Carl Gerald Murphy of Ellerslie aged 70, beloved husband of Earlene (Hickey) Murphy. Born in McNeills Mills on Oct. 12, 1938, son of the late Bayfield and Thelma (Hayden) Murphy. Dear father of Shane, Ellerslie, Dale, Missouri, Paul, Maine, Vaughn (Carolyn), Maine, stepfather of William (Maunda) Madairos, Derry, NH; Donna (Joe) Arsenault, Maine. Also survived by Jamie (Elizabeth) Rice, Summerside. Loving grandfather of nine grandchildren. Brother of Gladys Wagner, Ellerslie; Verna (Lester) Milligan, Poplar Grove; Evelyn Oakland, Ont. Son-in-law of Blanche (Wallace)Hill, Maine. Predeceased by brother Edward, sisters Lillian Barrett, Enid Milligan and father in law Earle Hickey. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Friday, Dec. 26, 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Saturday at the Bideford-Conway United Church at 2 p.m. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
