GAREAU, Alberte (94) passed away peacefully on May 16, 2014, at the Rosthern Mennonite Nursing Home. She is survived by her children: Yvonne (Art Beaubien), Ella (Dale Hazell), Carmen (Scott Humphrey), Cecile (Noé Jobin), Charles (Shannon) and Robert (MaryAnn); 8 grandchildren: Julie, Marilyn, Jean (Juli) Beaubien, Stephanie Hazell Bachman (Derek), Rick Hazell, Michael and Stéphan Humphrey, Elyna Gareau; 5 great grandchildren: Sebastian Hazell, Joshua Bachman, Grey and Gisèle Beaubien, and Daeton McKay. She was predeceased by her husband Gilbert, daughter Juliette, her parents, Emery and Parmelia Gaudet, sisters Elianne (Henri Ethier), Bernadette (Edouard Ethier), and brother Pierre-Albert (Yvette Gaudet). Alberte was born and raised in the Bellevue area and married Gilbert Gareau on October 29, 1945. She was a woman of faith, deeply spiritual and prayerful. Alberte was a skillful seamstress and a great cook, hosting countless meals. We will miss our wonderful “maman.” A special thank you to the Rosthern Mennonite Nursing Home for the care that Alberte received for the last three years. Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. led by Deacon Art Beaubien. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Phong Tran on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held at the St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church in Bellevue, SK. Interment followed in the St. Isidore Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Alberte may be directed to the Rosthern Mennonite Nursing Home or to the Alzheimer’s Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw, SK, 306-233-4403.
