The death occurred peacefully, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, May 15, 2014, of John Walker, of Summerside, aged 78 years. Born in Summerside, he was the son of the late Ernest and Minnie (Carruthers) Walker. Survived by his wife Elizabeth (Bowness) Walker; children Julie Walker, Summerside; Jane (Hugh) McQuaid, Summerside; Johnnie, Summerside; Greg, Alberta; Carolyn Walker (Shelly Rowan), Halifax; grandchildren Elizabeth and Ellen MacDonald; Mary and Sarah McQuaid; Lindsay, Stephen, Justin and Jake Walker; Ben Gillis; great-granddaughter Lydia Walker; sister Evelyn Frank; brother George Walker; and by a sister-in-law Norma Walker. Predeceased by brothers Thomas, Kenneth and Neil Walker. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Monday, then to the Summerside Presbyterian Church, where funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Sunday from 6-9 p.m. Family flowers only. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Summerside Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
