The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, May 15, 2014, of Ruby Bertha Newport (nee Murphy) of Kinkora, aged 79 years. Ruby was born on December 15, 1934, in McNeills Mills, to her late parents Herbert and Pansy (nee Rogers) Murphy. Loving partner of Bill Murphy and loving mother of Garry of NFLD., Linda Quigley of Summerside, Roger of Kinkora, Julie MacDonald (Rob) of Borden-Carleton, Colleen Sudsbury of Kensington, Grant of Borden-Carleton and son-in-law Charlie of Borden-Carleton. Also lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Survived by her sisters Vaunda Bigney of Edmonton, AB., and Greta Stead (Gary) of Chipman, AB. Besides her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her daughter Marilyn MacDonald, brothers Ivan, Claude and Jim Murphy. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside. By personal request there will be no funeral service or visiting hours held. Interment to take place in the Bideford United Church Cemetery, Bideford.
