Norman Howell
HOWELL, NORMAN JOSEPH PALLISER - 1929-2014 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Joseph Howell (Joe) which occurred on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Joe was born in Moncton and was the son of the late Norman and Ellice (nee Palliser) Howell and was predeceased by his older brother, Charles; older sister, Elinor Wunderlich; and brother-in-law, Dr. Ray Wunderlich. This devoted husband, father and grandfather is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Louise (nee Fielding); son, Tom (Melody); and daughters, Anne (Harold) and Kathryn (Darrin). He is also survived by grandchildren, Nathan, Kevin, Alex, Kendra, Lindsay, Sean, Mark and Evan; sister-in-law, Patricia (Laskey) Howell; and several nieces and nephews. This special man had a long and successful career that spanned 40 years within the Canadian banking industry. Most of his career was spent as a manager at various Toronto Dominion Bank branches in Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic Provinces. During this time, Joe involved himself with several service and friendship clubs such as the local Chamber of Commerce, Beaver Curling Club, Gyro, Rotary and Probus. Later in life Joe volunteered with the Riverview RCMP Victim Services and the Palliative Care Unit at the Moncton General Hospital. Joe was an avid golfer and a life long member of the Moncton Golf Club. He will be greatly missed by all those he befriended.
Visitation will take place at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm; the funeral service will be held from Cobb's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Brent Ham officiating. Interment to follow at St. Martin's in the Woods Cemetery at Shediac Cape, NB. Donations to the Alzheimer Society, the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
