COCHRANE, HAZEL - Hazel Carol Cochrane, 91, of Jordan LifeCare Centre and formerly of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Intervale, she was the daughter of the late Cheston and Birdie (Wheaton) Steeves. Hazel was a homemaker, family was very important to her, she was also the Secretary-Treasurer for Cochrane & Sons Ltd., a member and past president of the former Eastern Star, Salisbury and an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 31. She is survived by daughters Carol Jones (Gerry) of Salisbury, Marilyn Horsman of Salisbury, Joan Geikie (Kim) of Quispamsis and Norma MacKay (Tim) of Truro, NS; sons Douglas (Donna) and Lloyd (Nancy) both of Salisbury; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Hazel was the last surviving member of her family. Predeceased by husband Milton (1995); sisters Florence Rosborough and Alma Herrington; brothers Clinton and Gerald Steeves and special friend Donald Ward.
A Celebration of Hazel's life will be held from the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Thursday, May 22 at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Fair Haven Cemetery.
