The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Sunday, May 18, 2014, of Robert “Bob” Nelson, beloved husband of Bernadette “Bernie” (nee Blanchard), of Charlottetown, and formerly of Rustico, age 71.
Bob was the loving father of Allan (Ruth), Michael (Colleen), Jeffrey (Bev) and Peggy Doucette (Keir); and Grampie of Callie and Drew; Cameron and Evan; and Ella, Hannah and Luke. He is also survived by his brother, Douglas; sisters, Brenda (Barry), Deborah, Gail and Pam; brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis, Cedric (Kathy), Mary (Peter), Jeanette and Cathy; and many special nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Margaret (Wood) Nelson; his stepmother, Grace (Tuplin) Nelson; his father and mother-in-law, Allan and Georgina (Martin) Blanchard; and his brothers-in-law, John Morrell and L. Edward Blanchard.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Augustine’s Cemetery. Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
