1942-2014 - Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit at the L.A. Miller Centre on Sunday, May 18th, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer, John "Jackie" Lee age 71 years, of Petty Harbour. Predeceased by his son Glen (1993), parents Jack and Clara Lee, brothers: Alva, Tom (Patsy) and Jim; his parents-in-law: Henry and Alice Murphy; brothers-in-law: Joe (Freda) and Francis. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 48 years Mary (nee Murphy); his children: Janice (David Burke), Joanne (Dwaine Carter), Craig (Dana) and Chris (Natashia); his 6 grandchildren: Rebecca and Brian Carter, Glen and Amy Lee, and Michael and Jonathon Burke; also his brothers and sisters-in-law: Joan and Ron Perchard, Gerald and Beverly Murphy, Henry and Toni Murphy, Tish and Cec Harrigan, Sheila and Tony Silver, Bob and Lorraine Murphy, Mary Lee and Gert Lee; his good friends: Louie and Delia Lee, Andrew Hannaford, Mike Hearn, nephew Ralph Lee and Christina D'Silva-Greening. Also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. A special thanks to family doctor Gary Rideout, Drs. Rorke and Norman and the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care Unit. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Monday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church, Petty Harbour. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Petty Harbour. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
