[SA Grace General Hospital 1939] Born October 12, 1913. Died May 17, 2014. Loving Mother, Grandmother, sister, friend, mentor, outstanding baker and bridge player extraordinaire. Jo was born in Silverdale NDB to Dulcie Janet [Wellman] and Francis Henry Pynn. She grew up in Badger and moved to St John's to study nursing and pursue her chosen career. She married Walter C Hudson of Blackhead Conception Bay in 1946. Her husband predeceased her, as well as siblings Ivy Osmond, Jean Evans, Joyce Holden, Cyril Pynn and Gerald Pynn. She leaves to celebrate an inspiring life her daughter Rosalyn and husband Bob LeGrow, her cherished granddaughters Andrea. Alison, Amy and Ashleigh, her sister Joan Curlew. step grand-children David [Darryll] and Tracey [Tyler, Krissy]. Jo also leaves nieces and nephews throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Florida. Her fellow bridge players will remember her maverick style of playing. Friends may visit the family at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday May 20 from 7-9 and on Wednesday May 21 2-4 and 7-9. A celebration of her life will take place at Barrett's Chapel on Thursday, May 22 at 11AM with a reception to follow at Barrett's Reception Center. Private inurnment later.
