On Saturday, May 17, 2014 our loved one Joan Kean age 80 years; a faithful servant of God was “Promoted To Glory”. Joan passed away at Brookfield Hospital, Brookfield. She lived most of her life at Badger’s Quay where she raised her family, but in most resent years resided at Otterbury Manor, Wesleyville. She is predeceased by her parents Alex and Frances Tiller; husband Abraham; and brothers-in-law David Callahan and Peter Carlos. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons David(Marion) of Badger’s Quay, Thomas(Linda) of St. John’s, Wycliffe(Colleen) of Gander, Alexander(Pauline) of Labrador City, Ian(Selma) of Gander and Byron of Winnipeg, MB; daughters Frances Kean of Simcoe, ON., Wyla Gray(Terry) of Labrador City and Noreen Sheppard(Barry) of Churchill Falls; brothers Sam Tiller(Rosemary) of Boston, MA., Garfield Tiller(Mary) of Corner Brook, Derek Tiller(Lucy) of Bedford, NS., Lewis Tiller(Lisa) of Bedford, NS., George Tiller(Dawn) of Prince Rupert, BC., and Paul Tiller(Ruth) of Corner Brook; sisters Isabel Budgell(Gordon) of Kings Point, Margaret Carlos of Dartmouth, NS., Violet Callahan of St. Catherine’s, ON., and Sharon Higdon(David) of Corner Brook; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service took place at The Salvation Army Citadel, New-Wes-Valley on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 with Lieutenants Randy and Anne Holden officiating. Interment followed at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Wesleyville. As an expression of sympathy donations in Joan’s memory may be made to The Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation.
