McKAY, BERNARD L. - The passing of Bernard Llewellyn McKay of Waasis, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the age of 73. Born in Fredericton, he was a son of the late Chauncey and Velma (Jones) McKay. Bernard was retired from International Nickel, Sudbury, Ontario. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Greta Faye (Bragdon) McKay; a son Roger McKay of Waasis and brothers Buddy McKay (Sharlene) of Minto, Garnett McKay (Diane) of Lincoln and Justus McKay (Ivy) of Woodstock, NB, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Bernard was predeceased by a son Bernard Lee McKay in 1997.
There will be an evening of Shared Memories and Refreshments at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A time of singing and remarks will begin at 6:30 PM under the direction of Rev. Carl and Evelyn Brewer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Clark, Garnett McKay, Hoppy Good and Dean Blaney. Interment will be held at a later date in the Upper Hainesville Cemetery.
