Morrison, Freda Eileen, 74, Truro, passed away suddenly on Thursday May 22, 2014 at home. Born in Debert, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Faye (McCallum) MacKay. Freda worked for the Royal Bank of Canada in Stewiacke. She and her husband Alfred loved travelling and camping. She also loved a good game of golf.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alfred John Morrison; son Shawn (Cheryl) of Truro Heights; daughters Shannon Morrison and Nicole Morrison, both of Truro; grandchildren Kyle, Jeff, Carla; great-granddaughter Jessica; brother Aaron MacKay (Schelé) of Truro; sister Marilyn Donnelly Jr. (Bud) of Cumming Georgia; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son John in infancy.
No visitation by family request. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro from where funeral service will take place on Monday, May 26th at 2:00 pm. Reverend Mary J. White will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
