FOXBROOK - George Thomas MacKay, 65 Foxbrook, Pictou County. passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014.

Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Alvin and Christina (Reekie) MacKay, Foxbrook.

In George’s early years, he enjoyed traveling across Canada, working from Nova Scotia to Flinflon, Manitoba and Canmore, Alberta.

George is survived by his brothers and sisters, Alvin MacKay (Claudia), Port Williams; Eileen Turner (Reg), Steam Mills; John Saunders (Alice), Foxbrook; Evva Melvin (Ivan), Hillarton; William Saunders (Alva), New Glasgow; Charles MacKay, New Glasgow; Janet Vance (Richard), Foxbrook; and many nieces and nephews.

George was predeceased by his brother, David.

Cremations has taken place. His family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 1-1:45 pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville followed by his memorial service at 2 o’clock Wednesday in Eagles Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Interment will be in MacLeod Cemetery, Foxbrook. Donations in George’s memory may be made to Valley View Villa. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
