It is with great sadness that the family of the late Derek Howard Ropson announce his passing on Sunday, May 25th, 2014 at the Western Memorial Hospital in his 54th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughters: Melissa (Chris Hodder) and Jessica (Jake Tansley); his precious grandson, Jack; his partner and friend, Wanda Hayley; his parents, Alma & Harvey Ropson; siblings: Francis (Bonnie) Ropson, Florence (Stewart) Ricketts, Jerry (Cindy) Ropson, Leighton (Theresa) Ropson, Judy (Keith) Pittman and Carl (Tracy) Ropson; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 28th at 2:00 p.m. from the Anglican Church; Rev. Edward King officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot on Wights Road.
