Nov 8, 1922-May 26, 2014: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rachel (Dalton) Johnson, 91, surrounded by family, at G.B. Cross Memorial hospital in Clarenville on May 26, 2014. Rachel was predeceased by her husbands Cecil Johnson and Edward Dalton, infant daughter Lurley, grandsons Brian and Derrick Johnson, great granddaughter Terry Butz, sisters Evelyn Gullage and Genevieve Reid, parents Edmond and Annie Chaulk and son-in law Bob MacGregor and grandson-in-law Terry Butz. She leaves to mourn her children, Rowena (Paul) Brownlee, Ernie (Loretta) Johnson, Audrey MacGregor, Bruce (Sylvia) Johnson. She also leaves to mourn 10 grandchildren, Paula, Heather, Robbie, Tammy, David,Natasha, Cassandra, Rosa, Mallory and Cecil. 17 Great-Grandchildren, Maggie, Allison, Rachel, Sarah, Cody, Tiana, Tyler, Nadja, Alyssa, Reanna, Kailynn, Ariella, Isabelle, Angelo, Riley, Jasmine and Shawn as well as 2 Great great grandchildren, Terrence and Lyla. Also left with loving memories, her sister Florence, brother in law Jabez (Josie)Johnson, the Family of the late Edward Dalton, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and friends.Special thanks to Dr. Brannan and the nursing staff at G.B. Memorial Hospital in Clarenville. Resting at Strathies Funeral home, Catalina. Family Visitation 10:00 am Wednesday. Public visitation 11:00 am-9:00 pm Wednesday and 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Thursday. Funeral service will take place at Calvary Memorial United Church, Little Catalina on Thursday at 2 pm, interment to follow at the U. C. Cemetery.
