BIRD, HELEN EVELYN - 1926-2014 - Helen E. Bird, 87, of Monarch Hall, Riverview, and formerly of Miramichi passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at her residence. Born in Hopewell Cape, Albert County she was the daughter of the late Elward and Leata (Christopher) Rose. Helen was a homemaker and proud mother and grandmother. She attended St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi, where she was a member of UCW.
She was predeceased, in September 2013, by her devoted loving husband Harold. Besides her husband, Helen was predeceased by her parents and brothers, John and Cyril. She will be dearly missed by sons, Ray (Heather) of Renfrew; Ken (Candace) of Kentville; Craig of Saint John and Brent (Yvonne) of Toronto; eight grandchildren, Valerie, Leanne, Matthew, Alicia, Amanda, John, Jake and Suhaanna; and five great-grandchildren. The family would like thank our cousin Jim Rose and his wife Linda for the attention given to our parents well being and assistance over the years of declining health and independence. Thanks as well to the staff of Shannex Riverview for the professionalism demonstrated in ensuring their care and comfort.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview, (869-2007), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm. A memorial and committal service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM from Cobb's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Berubé officiating.
