NEAL, WALTER A. - With tremendous sadness the family announces the passing of Walter A. Neal, loving husband of 48 years to Monica F. Neal, which occurred peacefully with his family by his side at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Born 1946, he was the son of the late Louis and Alice (Parker) Neal. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his uncle Clifford Neal and granddaughter Hannah Neal. Walter was self-employed for many years, starting his own drywall company True-Line (Acer) Construction. After semi-retiring he went on to work for Haldor Inc. (Northrup Construction) as a Project Supervisor. Along with his good friends, Walter was a member of Silver Hill Hunting Camp. He enjoyed hunting, camping, cars, reading and spending time with his family. In addition to his loving wife Monica, Walter is survived by his children: sons, Walter H. Neal (Jane) of Saint John and Shawn M. Neal (Michelle) of Bermuda; daughter Shelly D. Neal-Vernall (Paul) of Saint John; grandchildren Taylor, Bradley, Jarrett, Cameron, Hayden and Max.
Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 12 noon. Visitations will be held from 10 am until service time. A private family interment will take place in Browns Flat Cemetery.
