WRIGHT - Ellen “Doris” (nee Carlson) April 27, 1929 – May 20, 2014. Doris Wright of Swift Current, SK. passed away in her hometown of Ponteix, SK on May 20, 2014. She is survived by her daughters Judy (John) Stephenson, Karen (Neil) Triff, Brenda (Tom Halbgewachs) Wright, and Heather (Robert) Maschek; her grandchildren Chris (Odette) Allonby, John (Nikki) Stephenson, Robert (Breanna) Clark, Stephanie (Benjamin) Fehr, Jared Stephenson, Matthew Triff, Alisha Triff, Michael Triff, Ryan Maschek, and Rachel Maschek; her great grandchildren Odin Allonby, and Emmaline Allonby; her brother Edwin Carlson; her sister Hilma Carlson; her sisters-in-law Isola Carlson, Marie Carlson and Aileen Carlson, her brother-in-law Walder Sekeita and many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her husband Charles Wright; her granddaughter Amy Maschek; her parents Ernest and Hilma (nee Erikson) Carlson; her sisters Vera Sekeita and Ruth King; her brothers Arthur Carlson, Bertil Carlson and Eric Carlson; two siblings in infancy; sisters-in-law Charlotte Carlson and Terry Carlson; brothers-in-law Gordon Gillis and Delbert King; niece Aline Ovington and nephews Robert Carlson and Bertil Carlson. Doris was born in Ponteix, SK and enjoyed life in many cities throughout Canada before settling in Swift Current, where she raised her girls and enriched the lives of her grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing her love of nature, creativity, and sense of humor with family and friends. She held herself to a high level of perfectionism and had a great eye for detail. Those who knew her saw her as strong, independent, resourceful and hardworking. A private family internment took place at Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK. Her grandchildren were the honorary urn bearers. A memorial tea was held at the Swift Current Shrine Hall and the internment was officiated by Pastor Gregory Kiel of St Olaf Lutheran Church. In honour of Doris’s love of gardening, memorial donations made to the Foyer St Joseph Resident Safe Garden Fund in Ponteix would be appreciated by the family.
