It is with great sadness that the family of the late Grace Patey of River of Ponds announces her passing on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 88 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Carl (Joanne), Ontario, Wilfred (Vera), River of Ponds, Loman (Kathleen), River of Ponds, Mae (Wade) Alley, St. David's, Roy (Muriel), River of Ponds, Melvin, River of Ponds, Mildred (David) Hutchings, Cow Head, Marina, River of Ponds and Daphne (Vincent) Gouin, Ontario; 26 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; sister Laura Biggin; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband Levi Patey, second husband Roston Patey, sisters Naomi and Myra and brother Cline. Visitation took place at Peter's Anglican Church in River of Ponds Monday evening and Tuesday from where the funeral service took on Wednesday, May 28 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paulette Bugden officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
