
Thomas Gardner Samson
Thomas Gardner Samson of Brig Bay was born to Bessie and Peter Samson on July 30th, 1944. On Dec. 31, 1965, he married Jessie Parrill. They had one son, Dean. Family was very important to Tom; he dearly loved and appreciated each and every one of them. He enjoyed his job as a heavy equipment operator and always felt comfortable and happy working with machinery. In his spare time he liked to go fishing and hunting; he truly loved the great outdoors. Tom passed away into peace at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on May 25, 2014 in his 69th year. Left with fond and loving memories of his life are his dear wife of 48 years Jessie; his son Dean (Michelle) and granddaughter Kayla; sisters Barbara, Elsie (Grant) and brother Kevin; sister-in-law Bernice; brothers-in-law Grenfell (Eliza) and Clyde (Brenda). In his years, Thomas lived to see the passing of his parents Peter and Bessie Samson, his special sister Marina, and brothers Hiram and Conrad. Visitation took place at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Burial followed the service in the Anglican Cemetery in Pond Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
