COURTNEY, PETER - 1949 - 2014 - Boudreau-Ouest, NB – Peter Courtney, 64, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, on Saturday, May 31, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Peterborough, ON on July 28, 1949, he was the son of the late Norman and the late Barbara (Stuart) (Courtney) Picchiotti. Peter will be sadly missed by his wife, Lucille (Léger) Courtney; his two sons, Jason Flanders (Melcha) of Ottawa, ON, Michael Courtney (Lori) of Hornepayne, ON; his two brothers, John (Janice) of Kitchener, ON, Kevin of Edmonton, AB; his sister, Kate Spangl of Terrace, BC; his five grandchildren, Tait and Avery Flanders and Hayley, Ethan and Emma Courtney; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Christine Foster (2013).
In respect to Peter’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Donations to the Extra Mural Foundation (Shediac division), the Canadian Cancer Society or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
