NEW GLASGOW ­– Ian Reid “Bubba” Mason, age 60, of North Provost St., New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Layton and Katherine “Kay” (Atkins) Mason.
He was retired from J.J. Grant Ltd. He enjoyed his daily visits to Tim Horton’s.
He is survived by a sister, Joy (Junior) MacLean, New Glasgow; brothers: Bill (Carolyn), New Glasgow; Alan, New Glasgow; Sandy (Susan), Westville; numerous nieces and nephews; special people in his life Victoria and William.
He was predeceased by a nephew Steven.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A public graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow, with Rev. Pat Rose officiating.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
