Florence Edna (Hamilton) Demchuk

DEMCHUK (Hamilton), Florence Edna – 94, Truro, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Elk Court, Brookfield. Born August 27, 1919, in River Hebert, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Foster S. and Charlotte R. (Fields) Hamilton. Florence was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over 60 years and a member of Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. She was a graduate of Kaulbach’s Beauty Parlour in 1939 and practiced hairdressing for many years in Truro. Florence is survived by her sister, Bertha Langille, Truro; niece, Audrey Langille, Truro; nephew, Kenneth Murch, South Carolina; niece, Jean (Murch) Kohlmayer, South Carolina; step-sons, Gregory Demchuk (Carol), Middle Sackville; Ron Demchuk (Sharon), Moncton, New Brunswick; Michael Demchuk (Brenda), Goderich, Ontario. Along with her parents, Florence was predeceased by her first husband, John E. Irving; second husband, Michael Demchuk; sister, Doris Murch (South Carolina). Graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2014, at Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. If so desired, donations in Florence’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
