TONKS, THOMAS GEORGE - ‘Tom Sr’, 87, of Dartmouth, passed away on June 1, 2014 in the QEII Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial Hospital. Born in Ingersoll, Ontario, he was the son of the late William and Florence Tonks. Tom is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rita Mary (Funican) Tonks, Dartmouth; daughters, Shirley (Tonks) Roche, Mooseland, Judith (Tonks) O’Rourke, Dartmouth; sons, Thomas J. Tonks ‘Tom Jr.’, Dartmouth, Mike (Linda) Tonks, Fredericton, NB; sister Alma Sweetman, BC; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his son William “Billy” Arthur Tonks, sisters, Gladys, Florence, Shirley; brothers Roland and John; and son-in-law Ken Roche.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th at 2 PM at The Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, with a reception to follow.
