Peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by the love of her family and dear friends, the death occurred on June 4, 2014 of Joan Victoria (Stewart) Cudmore of Charlottetown, age 83.
The strength and dignity she exhibited throughout her life, together with the support of her family and numerous friends, sustained Joan through her battle with cancer over the last year.
Joan was the only child of the late Charles and Alice (MacLeod) Stewart. She will be forever missed by her children and their spouses Tracy Cudmore and Scott Doncaster and Troy and Krista (MacLaren) Cudmore and her faithful chocolate lab and best friend, Molly. Joan was the devoted and much loved Grammy of Colin Cudmore and Nicole and Paige Doncaster. She was the cherished sister-in-law of Barbara (Cudmore) Wood, special aunt of Michelle Wood-Wheeler (Mike Wheeler) and Geoff Wood (Judy Gallant) and great-aunt of Benjamin, Emma, Olivia and Sophie Wheeler. Joan was predeceased by her husband, George Cudmore, and her sister-in-law, Anita Cudmore.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 p..m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in West Covehead United Church Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice Palliative Care Association of Prince Edward Island or the Humane Society of P.E.I. would be appreciated.
