MARTIN, JOSEPH - Joseph Martin of Moncton passed away “peacefully” at The Moncton Hospital on June 5, 2014 at the age of 79. Born in Duvar, PEI, May 5, 1935, he was the son of the late Albert and Lauretta (Arsenault) Martin. Joseph is survived by his wife Della Martin (Cormier) of 55 years, son, David (Sheila) Martin of Mass, USA, brothers; Robert (Colette) Martin, Ron (Darlene) Martin, Wayne (Jeannette) Martin, Barry Martin, Dave Martin, sisters; Norma Frewin, Audrey (Roger) Thibodeau, Lorraine Fitzgerald, Diane Johnston, Carlene (Danny) Comeau.
He is also survived by his grandchildren; Eric, Scott, Katie Martin, Jessie Goguen and his many nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his daughter Annette (Joe) Goguen, infant daughter Mary and his infant brother Eugene.
In keeping with Joseph’s wishes there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at Notre Dame de la Paix on Monday at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
