Burgess, Angus Wright. Age 76, of Upper Burlington, Hants Co. Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear loved one, Angus. A husband, father and grampy, Angus passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014, in Haliburton Place , Windsor, with his beloved wife, Mary and his family by his side. Born on January 25, 1938, in Windsor, he was a son of the late George and Borden (Parr) Burgess, who moved to Upper Burlington in 1946. Angus worked on his father’s farm in Upper Burlington and when he married Mary, they together started and worked their own farm in 1961 until 2010. Angus had also worked at the Carry’s Brick Laying Company for 12 years. In July 1968, he started work at the Halifax Shipyards, retiring after 23 years. Angus liked country music, working in his shop and taking care of his cattle or whatever he could until his Alzheimer disease prevented him from continuing with his everyday activities. Angus is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Mary Viola Mason; they were blessed with six children, Jayne and Brian Weatherbee, Upper Burlingon; Wanda McKinley (Phil Starratt), Cambridge; Tina Burgess (Steve Weaver), Upper Burlington; Krista Conrad (John Sheppard), Upper Burlington; Angus Jr. (Holly) Burgess, Upper Burlington; Tyler Burgess (Kristie Shay, Windsor; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Marlene (Ray) Thiboutot, Charlotte Chapman, Deanna (John) Macumber; brothers, Robie and Phillip Burgess. Besides his dad and mum, he was predeceased by father and mother-in-law, Harold and Kathleen (McDonough) Mason; his dear grandson, Brandon Weatherbee; his brother, Merton Burgess. In respect to Angus, cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay’s Funeral Home, Windsor. There will be no visitation, funeral service or reception.
