Florence passed away at her residence on Tuesday June 3, 2014.
Born July 4, 1913 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late George and Susan (Ferguson) McLellan.
Flo married late in life and was sadly widowed after a short but happy marriage. Although the marriage was short, she is fondly remembered and still considered to be part of the Milburn clan of Cape Breton.
She was predeceased by husband, Michael Charles 'Chuck' Milburn.
She will be sadly missed by three step-children: Michael Milburn (Inga) and Mary Jala (late husband, Thomas) both of Sydney, NS and Ann Billard (John) of Glace Bay, NS; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by one sister, Shirley Léger (Ron) of Moncton; predeceased by four sisters: Mae, Helen, Annie and Georgina; two brothers: Joseph and Robert.
'Flo' had a long career working at Blue Cross in Moncton. Well into her later life she was active and well, helping to care for the family home and looking after a sister and brother-in-law who lived with her. She was relentlessly positive, and looked on the bright side of life even after health issues necessitated her moving to O' Bon Soins. She spoke very highly of the staff and quality of care there.
The funeral service will be held at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297), on Monday June 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Monday June 16, 2014 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. In memory of Florence, a contribution to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated.
Cremation and funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Frenette Funeral Center, Shediac (532-3297).
