Patricia Laird
Passed on: June 3rd, 2014
Patricia Elizabeth Ann Laird
It is with sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing away of Pat on June 3, 2014 in her home in Saskatoon. Pat was born on March 10, 1958 at Outlook, Saskatchewan. Pat was the first born child of Don and Gloria Laird. She began school in Glenside and then completed her grade 11 in Shaunavon where the family moved in 1965. She later finished her grade 12 and went on to take a year in university and accounting classes from SIAST.
Pat was blessed with twin sons, Jeff and Jason. She lived with her sons in Shaunavon and then when her boys were older they moved to Swift Current. Pat married Ray Wolfe in 1982 in Swift Current, they later divorced. Pat met Ron Orthner and together they moved to Moose Jaw and Fort St. John and then back to Saskatoon where they married. After they divorced, Pat, Jeff and Jason moved to Allan, Saskatchewan and eventually Pat moved back to Saskatoon. Pat developed a debilitating disease which made moving very difficult for her. She suffered greatly with every move she made, but she kept a sense of humor as she laughed often. Pat was a great friend and would help anyone else in need and was very thankful for the help she received.
Pat is survived by her sons Jason of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jeff (Lisa) who resided with Pat in Saskatoon, her treasured granddaughter, Brittney of Allan, Saskatchewan, her mother Gloria Laird of Shaunavon, her two sisters, Laurie Laird of Eastend, Saskatchewan and Sheila Laird of Duchess, Alberta, her brother Ward (Janette) of Bruxelles, Manitoba, her nieces Daria of Lethbridge, Alberta, Natasha of Brooks, Alberta, Gabriella of Bruxelles and nephew Devon (Leah) of Red Deer, Alberta. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pat was predeceased by her dad Donald Laird on October 14, 2013.
Pat faced her challenges with laughter and has left a legacy of endurance, courage and humor for her family and friends to remember. She was much loved and will be sadly missed by all of us.
