Surrounded by his children, John Eldon Green, age 87, died peacefully at the Prince Edward Home on Sunday, June 8, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Green (nee Sigsworth), also at the Prince Edward Home, and their seven children, Mary Beth Parsons (Les), Stephen, Larry (Victoria), Sharon Anne (Jamie), Maura, Vincent (Margaret) and John David (Becky). John Eldon is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and seven siblings - Betty Newby, Joyce Veno, Helen Miller, Pauline Cardella, Ralph, Marshall and Peggy Brewer.
He was predeceased by his young son, John Eldon Green Jr.; brothers, Ken and Layton; and sister, Olga.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Thursday, June 12, 3-6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 13, at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Prince Edward Home or to Mary and John Eldon Green Dalhousie Scholarship would be appreciated.
