IZZARD, JOHN DONALD "JACK" - December 12, 1927 - June 12, 2014 - Jack quietly left us, surrounded by his family, at his home in Halifax. Son of James R. and Aurilla Izzard he was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick. His career as a Systems Analyst began with NB Tel in Saint John, then with the RCMP and Department of Agriculture in Ottawa. Moving back to Halifax he did private consulting, most memorably for the QEll Health Sciences Centre. He enjoyed fishing, curling, reading, cards, horseshoes and raising children with his true love Fran. For Jack, all time was family time and he will be truly missed by children Brenda Robertson (Ronald), David (Eileen), Penny (Ron), Crystal Archer (Steve), Stephanie (Lorne), Jennifer (Michel), John, and Mark (Tracey); 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and his sister Jean Rice. Predeceased by his wife Frances; infant son Jon; brothers Weldon, Gordon, Ronald and Aubrey; sisters Gloria, Mildred and Pat. He was a member of the RCMP Veterans Association and a regular attendee at Bayers Centre Young at Heart Program.
As per his wishes his remains have been donated to Dalhousie Department of Medical Neuroscience. A memorial service will be held on a future date. Thanks to all for prayers and condolences.
