
Lillian Hopper
HOPPER, LILLIAN M. - Lillian M. Hopper, 88, of Colpitts Settlement, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, June 16, 2014 following a brief illness. Born in Petitcodiac, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Mary (Wilson) Perry. Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Little River, Rockaway and Uplands Schools in Moncton. Lillian was a graduate of Fredericton Normal School and a member of Five Points Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, puzzle books and socializing with her friends; but first and foremost was spending quality time with her family. Lillian will be sadly missed by her husband of 70 years, Rae R. Hopper; their children, Judith Mallory (Ken) of Saint John, Michael Hopper (Rachel) and Monica Crosthwaite (Bill), both of Boundary Creek, Kenneth Hopper (Catherine) of Moncton, Brenda Watling (Ralph) of Salisbury, David Hopper (Angela) of Colpitts Settlement, Byron Hopper (Nancy) of Synton and Janice Phillips (Andy) of Moncton; twenty precious grandchildren; 29 cherished great-grandchildren and one precious great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Phyllis Chambers (late Henry) and Donna Cromwell (Corey), both of Petitcodiac; two sisters-in-law, Ella Hopper (late Jack) of Saint John and Marion Morson of Victoria, BC; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Kevin Crosthwaite.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service for Lillian will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Bill Parks officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Scent free would be appreciated due to allergies.
