STEEVES, EVERETT - It is with great sadness that the family of Everett Albert Steeves, 93, of Hillside announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Meadow, he was a son of the late Trunham and Janie (Bannister) Steeves. A lifelong resident of Hillside he was a farmer, truck driver, equipment operator and enjoyed working in the sugar woods even up to this past spring. A member of the third Elgin Baptist Church, he was the caretaker of the church and cemetery for over 40 years. He enjoyed attending the local musical gatherings where he loved to dance and listen to ole time country music. He cherished spending time with family and friends and he will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 59 years Anna (Milton); his children Randy (Karen), Terry (Pat) and Diane (David); grandchildren Jason, Tammy, Dean, David, Amanda and Matthew; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Survived also by a brother Clinton (Emily) ; sister Alberta Marr (late Hilyard); brothers in law William Henry and Daryl Lewis and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Larry; grandson John Randall; sisters Mona Steeves, Elizabeth Henry and Ruby Lewis and brothers Roy and Clarence.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be Friday, June 20 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Keith Adams officiating assisted by Rev. Delbert Bannister. Interment at the Hillside Cemetery.
