It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sears MacArthur announces his passing at his residence at the age of 79 years. Besides his parents Allan and Mary (nee MacDonald) MacArthur, he was also predeceased by his mother & father-in-law John and Mary Campbell, brothers John (Georgina) MacArthur, George MacArthur, Gordon MacArthur, Lewis (Jessie) MacArthur, Frank (Margaret) MacArthur, Jimmy (Rose) MacArthur, sisters Loretta (Bernie) MacNeil, Cecilia (Aiden) MacIsaac, sisters-in-law Stella Campbell, Annie Dunn-Campbell, and brothers-in-law Leo Cormier, Johnny Campbell, and Malcolm (Mildred) Campbell. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories are, wife Anne Marie (nee Campbell) MacArthur of 49 years, sons John Allan MacArthur, Gordon MacArthur, Dwayne MacArthur, and daughter Shelley MacArthur, daughters-in-law Debbie MacArthur, and Lynn MacArthur, son-in-law Dennis Strickland, grandchildren Lucas & Matthew MacArthur, Kayla & Kyle MacArthur, Dylan & Cameron MacArthur, and Stephanie Strickland, brothers Martin (Rhoda) of Alberta, Dan (Elizabeth) of New Waterford, NS, sister Margaret Cromier of Upper Ferry, brother-in-law Frederick Campbell of New Waterford, NS, sister-in-law Joan (Bob Chapman) O'Gorman of Edmonton, Alberta, and very special friends Margie (Brian) Brake of Upper Ferry, Grace Greco of Mississauga, Ont. and his homecare workers Denise & Darlene Downey plus many nephews, nieces & friends from all over the world through his music. As per Sears wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation began Thursday, June 12 at 7:30 pm from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry. The funeral mass took place on Friday, June 13 at 11:00 am with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to the Daffodil House.
