At the Western Hospital Alberton on Sunday Dec. 28, 2008 of Basil M.Griffin of Dock Road Elmsdale age 82 years. Beloved husband of Norma (nee McKenna) Griffin. Born in Brockton, P.E.I., on Jan. 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Charles and Agnes (Minnie) O’Halloran Griffin. Dear father to Vaughn (Judy) of New Market, Ont., Ian (Curt) of Chicago Ill., Kevin (Cathy) of Peterbrough, Ont., Nora (Kevin) Currie of Bloomfield, Sharon (Vittorio) Galloro of Etobicoke Ont., Kim (Vance) Ellis of Ft. McMurray Alta., Donald (Kelly) of Brampton Ont. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and by two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Bernice Griffin, of Alberton. He was predeceased by a daughter, Maureen, in infancy and by a sister, Lillian (late Howard) O’Halloran. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Thursday afternoon from the Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, for funeral mass at 2:30 p.m. Interment later in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Heart and Stroke foundation would be gratefully appreciated. Due to severe allergies please refrain from wearing perfumes and scents.
