
Harold Lynn Prince
PRINCE, HAROLD LYNN - It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold Lynn Prince which occurred on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born March 6, 1943 in Saint John he was the son of the late Harold and Pearl (Logan) Prince. Lynn achieved his BA and Masters in Education from UNB Fredericton. Throughout his life, he worked as a Parole Officer, teacher and as the Assistant Superintendent at the New Brunswick Central Reformatory. He was also a counsellor for the John Howard Society. Lynn was a proud Queen Scout and Royal Life Guard, he enjoyed swimming at Crawford Lake and various pools throughout Saint John. During his life, Lynn enjoyed collecting antique guns, hunting and fishing. He was a very quiet promoter of others’ educational pursuits, dreams and aspirations; everyone considered him an advocate of fair play. Lynn was a devoted member of St. Paul’s United Church in Fredericton and St. Andrews St. David’s Church in Saint John. He studied and became a dedicated member of the Scottish Rite. Lynn is survived by his two loving sons; Andrew of Halifax and Mark (Jody) of Castlegar, BC. Lynn is also survived by his three sisters; Ardyth (Stan) Fielding of Saint John, Pamela Prince of Perth Andover and Nadene (Gordon) MacAulay of Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Gregory, Haley, Kelsie and Kyle; niece; Stacy (Travis) MacCormick and great-nephew; Euan MacCormick.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM. A private interment will take place at a later date. It was Lynn’s request that donations be made towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the John Howard Society.
