The death of Joyce Evelyn (Atkinson) Carter occurred on Thursday June 3, 2014 in Ottawa. Joyce was born in Port Mouton, Nova Scotia in 1926. She was a long-time resident of Sackville and Pointe de Bute. She attended St. Paul’s church and was a member of the ACW and IODE.
Joyce is survived by her son Duncan (Irene) of Bonaire, NA and two daughters Rebecca of Ottawa, ON and Virginia (Claude) of Lake George, NB. She has eleven grandchildren; Ephraim, Daniel, Brendan, Tamir, Shoshannah, Aressa, Caley, Alanna, Elisheva, Gavi and Noam. She also has five great-grandchildren; Shalva, Rane, Chava Leah, Eliezer and Patrick.
In addition to her parents, Stan and Vera Atkinson, she was predeceased by her son-in-law Dr. Eric Stulberg, her husband John Carter and her two brothers Donald Atkinson and Leon Atkinson.
Funeral services were held at Chandlers Funeral Home in Liverpool, Nova Scotia on June 9 at 11am with interment in Port Mouton Cemetery.
