SPRINGHILL - With sadness in our hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Alice Brine, age 94, of Springhill. Alice passed away peacefully at High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
Born in Springhill, NS, she was a daughter of the late John and Sophie (Landry) Arseneau.
Alice was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Womens League. She worked as a clerk with the Compensation Board for several years. She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center, the bowling league, card parties, and especially spending time with family and friends.
The last surviving member of her immediate family she will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Teddy, Leo, Tommy and Arthur; sisters, Margie and Leona.
Funeral arrangements were under the care of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where visitation was held from 7 to 9 pm, Thursday, July 3, 2014. Funeral Mass was held on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 11 am from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Springhill, with Father Phil Thibodeau officiating. Burial in the Church Cemetery, North Street, Springhill.
