CARMODY, CHARLES "DON" DONALD - The passing of Don Carmody occurred on July 24th, 2014 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Charlottetown, PE on March 28th, 1933, he was the son of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Miller) Carmody and husband to Joan (Allen) Carmody. Don lived and worked in the Fredericton area for 30 years as an auditor for the provincial government in the Department of Justice before retiring to Hartts Lake. One of his personal interests was sailing and there are many lakes and rivers Don sailed on throughout his lifetime. He was also a talented carpenter and builder of houses and boats. A devoted husband and father, Don is survived by his wife, Joan of Gagetown; children, Mark Carmody of Fredericton, NB and Teresa Ann Williams of Sacramento, California; brothers, Darrell Carmody (Betty) of Guelph, ON and Mike Carmody (Irene) of Charlottetown, PE as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Earl "Bud" Carmody and his son-in-law, Michael Lee Williams.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service for Don will be held at the Gagetown United Church on Wednesday, July 30th, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Jane Johnson will officiate.
