BOURGOIN, MAY - At the Grand Falls General Hospital, July 29, 2014, Mrs. May Bourgoin of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 88 years. She was the wife of Enoil Bourgoin whom she married in 1951. Born at Grand Falls in 1926, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Morrissey) Deschenes. May began her working career with the Royal Bank of Canada where she worked for a number of years before a long career in the office of Wade Taylor until her retirement. For several years, she volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society, receiving an award from the organisation for her many years of dedicated service. She was also a member for several years of the C.W.L. She is survived by her husband, her son Rodney (Judy) of Grand Bay-Westfield, two grandsons, Joseph and Patrick, sister, Elnora Deschenes of Augusta, Maine, brother, Arnold Deschenes (Phyllis) of Presque Isle, Maine, sister-in-law, Betty Deschene of Sackville, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Ervin.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Her funeral service will be held Friday, August 1st at 11 a.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery.
