MacDONALD JEANETTE A. - 1952 – 2014 - Jeanette Arlene (MacQueen) MacDonald of Riverview was called to her heavenly home on Monday, August 4, 2014 surrounded by her loving family, following a brief battle with cancer at the age of 61. Born in Donkin, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of Mathilda (Tillie) McQueen of Donkin and the late Fraser McQueen. For the last 21 years she resided in Riverview and had been employed with Sobey’s in Riverview for the last 20 years, where she enjoyed working with the wonderful staff and enjoyed the interaction with all the customers she came in contact with. JR. MacDonald, the love of her life was in the Military. They were stationed at CFB Gagetown, NB, Chiliwack, BC, Lahr and Baden Germany, Petawawa, On and Moncton NB. Through their postings she was active with churches, choirs and Ladies Guild and volunteered with various blood donor clinics and community groups. She was a member of Trinity United Church in Riverview and their choir, Carol Fest and a former member of the Metrotones. Besides her mother, Jeanette will be dearly missed by her loving husband, JR. MacDonald of 39 years, daughter, Vanessa MacDonald of Shediac, son Jeffrey MacDonald of Moncton, her beautiful twin grand daughters; Naomi and Keira Plourde, who added so much joy and happiness to her life, her brothers; Wayne MacQueen (Linda) of Dartmouth, Ian MacQueen (Wendy) of Halifax and Dave MacQueen (Philomena) of Moose Jaw, SK, sisters; Dianne MacMullin (Michael) of Sydney Forks, NS and Irene MacQueen of Ottawa, ON and several cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Fraser McQueen.
In honoring Jeanette’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or public service. The interment will be in St. Luke’s United Church Cemetery in Donkin, Cape Breton, NB. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Trinity United Church in Riverview or St. Luke’s United Church in Donkin would be appreciated by the family.
