It is with profound sadness and grief that we announce the passing of a loving mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend, Maureen ‘Moe’ MacIntyre of Sydney Mines. Maureen passed away peacefully with her husband and family pets, Rex and Fluffy by her side on Feb. 15, 2010, as a result of a house fire in the family home.
Maureen, who was known to live for her boys, was a very caring person and was well known for this. Her entire life revolved around her family. If she was not cooking a meal or cleaning the house she could be seen running errands and just spending time with her mother, who was everything to Maureen. Many neighbours would look for that wave from her as she sat on her step in the summer months. She was loved by all.
Maureen, Moe, is survived by her two loving sons, Jamie (Jennifer), Sydney Mines, and Kenneth, who lived at home. Also surviving Moe is her mother, Mary Rosina Caroline Evans of Sydney Mines. Maureen also left behind her two sisters, Norma (Gary) Penny and Gloria (Jimmy) Elliot, who will hold her memories dearly. Maureen also had many nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters and brothers-in-law that will never forget her.
Maureen was predeceased by her loving husband, Joe, who was by her side until the end. Moe was predeceased by her father James Gordon Evans and a brother and sister-in-law.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A memorial service to be held at a later date.
