WALSH, Almena – Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Home on December 30, 2008, in the presence of her loving family, Almena A. Walsh, born September 13, 1917 on Oderin Island, Placentia Bay. Predeceased by her beloved husband John (Jack), 1965 and darling son, Michael, 1958. Left to celebrate her long life with dearest memories, her children: Elizabeth Hutton (Ralph Stokes), Robert (Eileen) Walsh, Ottawa, ON, Maureen (Paul) Gravelle, Ottawa, ON, Angela (Emile) Hamm, Tennessee, Florence (Neil) Matthews, Lorraine (Ted) Tettmar, Wasaga Beach, ON, Carmel (Roger) Lester and Michelle (Greg) Anstey, Victoria, BC. Also celebrating her life twenty-two grandchildren she cherished: Carl, Ian, Maria, Janiece, Natasha, Michelle, Charles, Bernard, Emile, Kara, Shawn, Erin, Lisa, Blair, Tonya, Krysta, Erica, Amy, George, Noel and Claire. Proud great-grandmother (Nanny Nanny) to: Daria, Luke, Olivia, Simon, Carter, Sophia, Gabriella, Madelaine, Aiden, Joey, Lilyanna, Spencer, Gabriel, Olivia, Penelope, Jeremy, William, Kathleen, Matthew, Kiera, Jayden, Kaden, Mya. Survived by her sister Alice Nugent and numerous nieces and nephews as well as friends and staff of St. Luke’s Cottages and Nursing Home. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Sunday and Monday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
