Gillis, Mary Bernice-86, It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bernice on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Charles LeGrow Health Centre with her loving family by her side. Born in Codroy, she was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte Samms. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by children, Joan, George (Clarrisa), Ann (Joe), Donald (Lucy), Yvonne (Darrell), Albert (Wanda), Joyce (Don), Catherine (Andrew) and Barbara (Alex), 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and brother, Albert (Doretta) Samms. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Joseph Gillis, granddaughter, Kayla Farrell and brother and sister in law Fred and Joyce Samms. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Fillatre Funeral Home, in keeping with Bernice wishes there was no visitation. Funeral service was held on Friday, August 15, 2014 from St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Upper Ferry, Father Laney officiating. Interment to follow in Chapel Green Cemetery, Upper Ferry.
