Passed on: April 29th, 2014

On April 29th 2014, our hearts were broken and our lives forever changed with the loss of Linda Eileen Gibbons. Eileen was a devoted partner, daughter, sister, and aunt. She had a profound impact on the family and friends that are blessed to have known and loved her. Over her thirty year teaching career she positively influenced thousands of students and imparted upon them, not only her wisdom and knowledge, but the positive hard working attitude that she embodied.

Our family wishes to express our thanks and appreciation for the kindness and support that lovingly comforted us during this difficult and heartbreaking time.

To our dear relatives and friends, thank you for the beautiful flowers, cards, and charitable donations; to those who brought food to our homes and the funeral home, and to those who made phone calls and sent online condolences, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To Eileen's friends, family, and colleagues who travelled from away to be with us (especially her best friend Kim) we greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness and presence. To everyone present at Country Haven Funeral Home in Corner Brook and at the services in Black Duck Cove, we were honored and touched by your loving support. It was comforting to see so many friends, old and new.

A sincere thank you to those who provided professional medical care to Eileen during her hospitalizations at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre. A heartfelt thank you to Reverend John Courage - we will forever remember your daily visits and prayers.

To the Carriers, Ramsey Dredge, Keith Doyle, Shawn Warren, Clyde Granter, Neil Kenny, Gary Parsons, Matthew Fuchs and Wilf Sheppard we thank you so much. To the pallbearers Leona Gibbons, Brianna Gibbons, Christopher Dredge, Jonathan Dredge, Danica Kenny, Chantel Doyle, Katie Doyle, Ian Warren and Victoria Warren your kindness will forever be our strength. A very special thank you we extend to the Grave Diggers Howard Dredge, Douglas Gibbons, Dion Dredge, Stewart Bailey, Wilfred Dredge Jr., Norman Toope, Glen Dredge, Kirby Gibbons, Ted Gibbons, Whyman Toope, Jim Doyle, Ronald Toope, George Williams, Dennis Chambers, Louie Dredge, Jim Williams, Barry Sinnicks and George Gibbons.

To the Reverend Harold Harvey and Matt Osmond for the very touching service and beautiful homily, and to the Church Altar Guild and ACW Black Duck Cove, you will be forever remembered for your kindness, support and compassion.

To Katie Doyle, Victoria Warren, and Shawn Warren thanks so much for the beautiful music and vocal performances all of which would have honored and pleased Eileen so much. To Kim Collins, Danica Doyle, Chantel Doyle, Christopher Dredge, and Jonathan Dredge thanks so much for delivering very inspirational and moving scripture readings. To Cross Bearer Nickolas Gibbons, Aunt Eileen would have been so proud. A heartfelt thank you to her brother, Martin Gibbons, for delivering a touching and loving eulogy that was a beautiful tribute to her life. Though it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please know that nothing went unnoticed. Everyone’s love and support will always be remembered.

Those who knew Eileen well, can attest that she had many gifts including a very loving, close relationship with her family. The values instilled in her by the parents she loved so much, Annie and Martin, were present throughout her life. She was a cherished and dearly loved sister to Joy, Lillian, Mary Jane and Martin - a role in which she took great pride and shone in. To her nieces and nephews Eileen was ever caring, nurturing, giving, and she loved them like they were her own. She was a loving devoted partner to Vaughn, her friend and soul mate for 25 happy years.

Eileen will always be remembered for her remarkable strengths, unwavering sense of humor, beautiful smile and selflessness. Her strong spirit and caring soul will live on in the lives of many. Thank you to all, and please hold Eileen’s memory in your hearts forever.

“To love you is to have all that we need in this world, and to be loved by you is all we ever wanted"

LOVE ALWAYS AND FOREVER-

Vaughn, Mother; Annie Gibbons,
