It is with great sadness that we, the family of David Leroy Burrage, 74, of New Haven, announce his passing on Aug. 18, 2014.
Born and raised in New Haven, he was the son of the late Wallace and Christine (Payne) Burrage. A true jack of all trades, Dave made his living over the years first as a fisherman, and then a truck driver. Tough as nails and strong as an ox, he worked hard his entire life to provide for his family.
He is survived by his loving children, Ruth (Ray Burns Jr), Jessie (Andrew) and David (Tessa); his sisters, Ruth (Gerald), Joan (Stanley); his nieces, nephews and many friends.
Besides his parents, Dave was predeceased by his youngest sister, Joyce (Vick); his nephew, Ricky (Claire) and his furry companion, Spike.
All are welcome to attend his funeral service at St. James Presbyterian Church, Neil’s Harbour, on Friday Aug. 22, 2014. Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. with Rev. Peter MacDonald officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
