LAURA JANE FLETCHER

Born In: Oakville, Ontario, Canada
Born: May 3rd, 1958

Passed in: Grande Cache, Canada
Passed on: February 15th, 2010

Mrs. L. Jane Fletcher (née Merriam) of Kamloops, BC passed away suddenly on Monday, February 15, 2010 in Grande Cache, Alberta at the age of 51.

Laura Jane Fletcher was born in Oakville, Ontario on May 3, 1958 to proud parents Dr. Reginald Grant Merriam and Marion Merriam (nee MacRobert). Jane worked for 20 years as a bus driver for Oakville Transit and GO Transit in the GTA. After moving to New Minas, Nova Scotia, she followed one of her dreams and opened her very own B&B, "The Whispering Pines." Eventually Jane lovingly moved to Kamloops to be closer and help raise her Grandbabies. While in Kamloops, Jane worked for the Kamloops Transit System and was a familiar face around 5 Star Dog Training, as well as Kapa Dance on the North Shore. Jane was passionate about her loyal dogs, horseback riding, camping, and making people laugh. As an incredible source of strength, shoulder to lean on, and that extra pair of hands to always help out, Jane will be sorely missed and graciously remembered by her appreciative family and friends.

Jane is survived by her loving husband Bentley Fletcher, her mother Marion Merriam, sister Lissa, daughter Chelsea Mogridge, son Ryan "Scott" Strzalkowski, and stepson Richard Fletcher. Jane will also be missed by her six grandchildren, Divinity, Taylor, Rhys, Indigo, Xavier and Jake.
She was predeceased by her father Grant Merriam.
