SKANES, Marion Joy Ella — Passed peacefully away on January 3, 2009, Marion joy Ella Skanes (nee Moores) at the age of 80. Predeceased by her husband Edgar, her father Ralph, mother Nellie and brother Harry. Leaving to mourn her sons, David (Maureen), Ralph (Carole Eaton), and Roy (Rose Smart) daughters Judy (Richard Taylor), Janet and Joy; grandchildren, Ian, Andrew, Mark, Kerry, Megan, Anna and Jackie; great-grandchild Mya; brother Eric (Betty), sister-in-law Rachel; brother-in-law Don (Lydia); sisters-in-law Marie (Ralph Greene), Gwen (Bob Solodzuk), May (Rex Smith) and Louise as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, January 5, and 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6. Funeral service to be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Harry’s Harbour United Church, Harry’s Harbour with interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Harry’s Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion’s memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. She will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren.
